April’s Fool in Pakistan

The problem with celebrating April’s fool in Pakistan is that there is already a fool in the top office of the country, not just on 1st April but the whole year round.

However all this could soon change as Musharraf’s arch nemesis, Iftikhar Chaudry, has been on the loose the past few days following months of house-arest of him and his family members. He is currently in his home town of Quetta at the initial stages of his LETS GET RID OF THIS DICTATOR ONCE AND FOR ALL (ie the reinstatement of the country’s judges) national tour. Good luck to him for the nation is with him!

On a seperate note, certain people in Pakistan decided to celebrate April’s fool by making hoax calls to emergency numbers. The Daily Times reports that a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said that close to 300 such calls had been made to mark the occasion.
